Today had a satisfised meal with my eating khaki (that's the only thing we do together everytime) at Turf city aka ma cheng. Firstly, we went to Unique seafood market to choose the lovely creatures to be eaten (I eat all seafoods, meats, fruits and vegetables). There are more than 80 varieties of seafood available such as fish, shelled seafood, prawn, crab, lobster, snake and even shark. Our first dish is mussles or da tou cooked in kampoon style. The thing about seafood is it is most delicious when served fresh! The sauce is v appetising to eat many bowls of rice which I normally dun eat.
This is followed by XL bamboo clams which has lots of fragrant garlic topping! The meat is so tender and juicy!!!
Then we had some oysters served in cheese. My khaki suggested it chilled but I prefer cooked since I dun hv a good tummy recently. It is pipping HOT!!! I love the way both cheese and oyster melt in my mouth.
I have a food fetish for snake...or rather eel, so I suggested this to my khaki as I dun wana appear to know nothing. I know it might not look appetizing and in fact hideous upon first sight (the brave salesgal took it in her hand k), but it is v v v tasty!
In case u wonder, we had it cooked in Gong Bao style which is sweet, spicy, crispy and tender! The good thing is they even removed bone for us. Tell you animal bones r totally useless if it is meant to be eaten. My khaki told me it tastes like unagi, but...unagi is eel too!
Laz is my favourite...CRAB!!! I can eat 20+ crabs in one go as my tummy ll nv resist crabs. We had one cooked in pumpkin cream and another black peppered, I din know there is egg yolk crab so we will leave it to next time.
Even though black peppered one is a tad salty, I'm fine with it coz it is still crab. Normally ppl dun eat crab coz it is mafan. However, I'm one smart and patient gal who ll take time to eat it clean.
Overall, the meal is v satisfying and service is not bad too. The total damage is 60+ only consider the quality and taste of food served.
